Save A Child

Millions of children around the world are born into a stark reality. Will they work in markets and mines, or go to school? Will they be trafficked into slavery, or be free? Will they be child soldiers, or students? These are staggering choices no child should face. Save a Child is the children arm of JEGIL Foundation that transform the lives of children on the edges of society, trafficked children, refugees, child laborers and help them regain their rights and pursue their dreams. In a nutshell, we do all we can to let children be children no matter what their circumstance may be.

The experience of childhood is universal to all and as we mature into adulthood, the effect of the environment in which we were nurtured becomes apparent in our lives. Our experiences - whether negative or positive shape our characters and affect our responses to the challenges we subsequently face in life. Against this backdrop, the responsibility of raising and nurturing children becomes a sacred duty.

Our primary focus at this department is to mobilize the efforts of the government, the private sector and other developmental agencies towards securing educational opportunities for children in disadvantaged families and deprived communities. Our expressions include:

Scholarship Progam

The Save a Child Scholarship scheme offers educational scholarships to Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) in primary, secondary and tertiary schools in Ghana and Africa.

Schools In Poor Communities

There are a lot of schools in Ghana and Africa that still study under trees in this 21st Century. As a result, this initiative aims to set up schools that offer free and qualitative education in poor communities

Community Service

Our Community Service Team embarks on quarterly visits to communities around Ghana and Africa. There, they train and offer support services in micro-credits, health and gender issues, entrepreneurial development, as well as, distribute food, educational and relief materials to parents and the community as a whole all in the name of helping children.

Mentorship Programs

This interactive forum provides an opportunity for our beneficiaries to be mentored by experienced persons from diverse fields and creates an avenue for evaluating the academic performance of the children on the scholarship scheme.
